Welcome, from the PTO president

The Lindeneau Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to welcome you to Lindeneau Elementary School and extend a whole-hearted “welcome back” to all returning families! We hope you all had a relaxing, fun filled summer!

The Lindeneau PTO is a volunteer organization comprised of the parents, teachers, and administrators of Lindeneau Elementary School who are committed to the successful education of our children. Together, we work very hard to provide activities and resources that will create an enjoyable and exciting school year for the parents, teachers and students.

Throughout the school year, the PTO hosts a variety of events, including the upcoming Ice Cream Social, Boogie Bash, and Breakfast with Santa; and we sponsor a number of fundraisers, including the KidStuff coupon book and Kastle Kreations sales. The money raised is put towards providing materials and resources to enhance the educational experiences of the students. Busses for field trips, educational assemblies, and the PBSIS program are just a few of the costs that are absorbed by the PTO.

For the PTO to be effective and truly representative of the school, it is essential to have involvement from as many parents as possible. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed. Everything the PTO does is based on volunteers, so please consider getting involved and making a difference.

We look forward to meeting you soon!

PTO FAQ:

1. How often are the PTO meetings?

The PTO holds general meetings once a month to discuss events, plan fundraisers, and share ideas. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to find out what is going on in the school. The meetings are held in the gymnasium and children are always welcome to attend!

2. Do I have to attend every meeting in order to be involved in the PTO?

No. Although we value your input and would love for you to attend the meetings, we understand that our schedule might not work for you. We appreciate your willingness to help out, so we so provide others ways to get involved. Check out our website or our blog for opportunities to get involved. Or, provide us with your contact information (on the membership form) and we can email you when help is needed.

3. Do I have to be available during the day?

No. Most of the executive board and parent volunteers work during the day, making it impossible to be available to be in the schools. Again, there are a number of ways that you can be an asset to our organization that will fit easily into your schedule.

4. If I volunteer for one event, will I be made to feel that I have to volunteer for everything?

Absolutely not. The PTO is grateful for any help you can provide, but we know you have busy schedules too.

5. If I choose to be part of the PTO, do I have to participate in every fundraiser?

No. You can choose to participate in whatever fundraisers appeal to you and your family.

6. How do I go about joining the PTO and what is the cost?

You can join by simply filling out the PTO membership form and returning it to your child’s teacher. If you don’t have the form, a PTO table will be set up during Back to School Night. Feel free to drop by to complete the form at that point. The cost is $5 per person and $8 per family.

7. What is the benefit of joining and volunteering for the PTO?

Volunteering provides you the opportunity to interact with your children and their peers, get to know and become friendly with other parents, and accomplish things that truly make a difference.
