New Tiger's Den Courtyard

Lindeneau's new Tiger's Den courtyard has recently opened and is a hit with the students.  Thanks to a $5000 grant from Lowe's Toolbox for Education, the PTO transformed an unused courtyard into what is now called the Tiger's Den.  Additional donations from New Beginnings Church and Lindeneau PTO as well as installation and landscaping help from Szebenyi Lawncare and dedicated volunteers helped make it possible.  The newly renovated Tiger's Den is an area students can use during recess to read, play games or be creative.  Some of the features include:
  • 2 outdoor chalkboards.
  • 3 dry erase game tables that students can draw on with dry erase markers or play checkers with the built in checker board.
  • 2 park benches for reading or relaxing.
  • New paver sidewalk.
  • New landscaping.
  • DJ the Tiger mascot statue.

The Tiger's Den was also featured in The Edison Township School district newsletter

Book Fair

Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child. Of all the skills children learn, it is the one you can influence the most. We invite you to visit our Scholastic Book Fair and experience a celebration of reading that provides families the opportunity to get involved in a universal mission: encouraging kids to read every day so they can lead better lives.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is part of an exciting reading event that brings to school a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. Giving kids access to good books and the opportunity to choose their own books will motivate them to read more. And like most acquired skills, the more kids practice reading, the better they’ll get.

All proceeds from the book fair help the PTO provide even more books for the classrooms and the school library.

The Book Fair is open to students on Thursday, October 10th and Friday, October 11th from 9:00 - 3:00.  It will also be open for families on Thursday, October 10th from 6:00 - 7:30 in the multipurpose room.

Bingo For Books

As part of the Scholastic Book Fair at Lindeneau School, the PTO will be hosting Bingo for Books on Thursday, October 10th at 6:30. Come join us for this FREE family event that promises to be a lot of fun! Prizes include Scholastic books for all grade levels. The Book Fair will also be open until 7:30 during Bingo Night for students and parents to purchase books.  As always, we thank you for your support and hope to see you for bingo!

Wimpy Kid 8 Presale

Our book fair is offering a specially priced paperback edition of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck for presale.  It is the eighth book in the popular series by Jeff Kinney and will go on sale November 5th.  Presales will be shipped directly to the school and delivered to your child.  For more details or to order see this form.

Volunteers Needed

We are still in need of some volunteers to help with these events, if you would like to help at either event please volunteer here.

Principals Newsletter

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our first month of school has passed and the weather has cooperated made for a smooth transition back to the books.

The opening of the year by our PBSIS Universal Team and our welcome assembly were a huge hit. The students enjoyed visits from the teachers of the Satori Academy who highlighted the need for self-control. The Lindeneau “students”, Jules, Mr. Eckert, Vincent, Mr. Stokes and their new friend, Juan, Mr. Kitchell explained the need to make school work a priority. We are emphasizing the need to work hard, have self-control and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment as our focus for the year. As always we are a partnership and know that we need your support with making school a priority. Students need to read a minimum of 15 minutes a night to keep their skills in line with the requirements necessary for their new grade level. Please help us to encourage your children as we continue to make them ready for the 21st century world.

This month the children were able to buy school supplies at the new “Tiger Shop”. Thanks to the PTO, the children are now able to feel that they are truly shopping by paying with cash and receiving change. It is a great learning experience and a whole lot of fun.

The annual PTO Ice Cream Social was a big success. I love enjoying quality time with the Lindeneau family. Thank you to all the teacher and parent volunteers who lovingly scooped ice cream. I also want to thank all the volunteers, especially Mr. Stryker for the wonderful job on our “Tiger’s Den”. I know that it will be put to good use.

I hope that you know that I look forward to each month with your children. I know that October will be a solid month of learning and experiences which will highlight Fire Prevention and Violence and Vandalism Awareness Month.

With warm regards,

Rosemary Schutz
